To us, sustainability in the forest doesn’t just mean securing the growing stock, the maintaining the habitat of many different species of animals and plants, or ensuring that the functions the forest performs as a climate regulator, a protective forest in steep sloping areas, as a drinking water and air filter, or as a recreation area, to name but a few, are maintained.
Production that is environmentally friendly is also important to us, as is a timber industry that is regional, performs well and is competitive, hand in hand with securing jobs, particularly in rural areas.
